As a guide: a couple needs about €3,917 a month, a couple with one child about €4,274 and a couple with two children about €4,630. Savings can support your application, but regular income from your remote work is the key proof.
Your family can apply at the same time as you, from your country or from Spain, or join you later once you have your permit. Their permit lasts as long as yours.
Children of school age can enrol in Spanish schools, and you will register the whole family on the padrón at your town hall.
Yes. Family members of a Digital Nomad Visa holder are allowed to work in Spain without restrictions, as employees or as self-employed.
Marriage and birth certificates must be recent, apostilled or legalised, and translated into Spanish by a sworn translator. For unregistered partners, we help you prove the relationship with joint documents such as a shared lease, bank accounts or children's birth certificates.
In our experience, most refusals come from three problems that can be avoided with good preparation:
Not meeting the minimum income. Your income must reach the current threshold — including the extra amount for each family member — and be proven with payslips, contracts, invoices or bank statements.
Apostilles and legalisations done wrong. Your criminal record, company documents and civil certificates must carry the right apostille and a sworn Spanish translation. A missing or wrong apostille can sink a whole application.
Badly drafted employment contracts. The contract or company letter must clearly state remote work from Spain, the start date of the relationship and the salary. Vague or generic letters are one of the most common reasons for refusal.

The total time depends mostly on how long it takes to get your criminal record, apostilles and translations. Once you are in Spain, you must apply for your TIE card within one month.
